German School, 19th Century La Venezia Inscribed, signed, and dated "München/Jos. Albrecht. 97." l.r. Oil on canvas, 24 x 34 in. (61.0 x 86.5 cm), framed. Condition: Tear to u.r. quadrant, scattered abrasions and paint losses, minor retouch, surface grime. Tear to u.r. quadrant measuring 2-3/8 in. (6.2 cm). Scattered minor paint losses, the largest located at c. l. edge and measuring 1/2 x 1/8 in. (1.0 x 0.3 cm), also minor losses to u.l. corner and above signature l.r. Scattered, minor old retouch confined mainly to the l.l. corner. Mild surface grime and discolored varnish.
