Signed "Bellmer" in ink l.r., dated "1965" in ink l.l., identified on a label from Gimple & Weitzenhoffer Ltd., New York, affixed to the backing. Engraving with aquatint in blue on paper, plate size 16 1/8 x 17 in. (40.7 x 43.0 cm), framed. Condition: Margins over 2 inches with deckled edges, subtle toning, not examined out of frame. Four deckled edges, minor fox marks to the deckled left edge, minor rippling; cloth taped to backing sheet at u.l. and u.r. corners, Arches paper with watermark c.l.; minor tear to left deckled edge c.l. approx. 1/4 in. length; inscribed "Titre: CEPHALOPODE DOUBLE" in pencil l.l. on the reverse; no additional condition issues to report.
