Dent Two-day Marine Chronometer, 61 Strand & 4 Royal Exchange, London, No. 46172, c. 1885 with three-tier box with printed maker's label inside top lid, circular enamel boss marked Dent 46172 , brass folding carrying handles and escutcheon, 2 3/4- in. engraved silvered dial, marked Dent, Maker to the Queen and address as above, Roman numerals Up-Down indicator, seconds dial, blued steel hands, brass bowl and gimbals, spotted full brass plates, chain fusee, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement, Dent's "staple-type" balance, helical hairspring, and diamond endstone, ratchet key, ht. 7 5/8, wd. and dp. 7 1/4 in. Chronometer running, brass plates, bowl, gimbal and case hardware in original lacquered surface, dial in original silivered condition.
