James Arthur Regulator with Remontoir, New York, 1901, the maple case with molded top, glazed dial and waist doors and mirrored back, the skeletonized movement stamped with maker's name and date with three front mounted dials, seconds at the top, hours object lower right and minutes, lower left, dead-beat escapement with adjustable pallet faces, lever activated one minute remontoir rewound by the large brass cased weight and internal "ball" pulley all regulated by a steel grid iron pendulum and cylindrical bob, ht. 81 in. The front plate also carries an applied plaque stating: "Daniel Arthur, from his Father James Arthur, June 13th 1901." Movement in old lacquered surface, needs cleaning/lubrication, dial chapter rings with original silvering, case in refinished condition, weight, pendulum and case components are the original.
