Pair of Minton Majolica Cherubs on Sea Horses, England, date cipher for 1863, each modeled as a cherub holding a shell-form vase aloft while riding a sea horse, all on an ovoid base, impressed marks to both, ht. 17 in. Literature: Illustrated in Minton 'Majolica,' by Victoria Cecil, p. 58, fig 40. Professional restoration to one rim and wing, the other with a small hairline crack to elbow.
