Minton Majolica Centerpiece, England, date cipher for 1869, modeled as two mermaids supporting a shell-form bowl with foliate garlands, impressed mark, ht. 11 1/2 in. Literature: Original design illustrated in Dawes, Majolica , p. 86, fig. 147; also illustrated in 'Minton 'Majolica,' by Victoria Cecil, p. 67. In good condition with no evidence of any chips, crack ro restorations.
