Framed Oval Portrait Miniature on Ivory, France, 19th century, depicting a dark-haired woman in a red gown and blue cloak, unsigned, in a Stern Brothers, New York, reticulated gilt-bronze, basse taille enamel, and paste-set frame, portrait backed by a faux tortoiseshell medallion, ivory sight ht. 3 1/8, frame ht. 9 5/8 in. Possible restored cracks to ivory from left side across chest. Not examined out of frame. Repairs to reticulated part of frame.
