Dutch Marquetry-inlaid Collector's Cabinet, late 19th century, with mullioned glass doors enclosing shelved interior, over two short drawers on knopped barley-twist legs joined by stretchers, and pear-shaped feet, electrified, ht. 62 3/8, wd. 35 3/4, dp. 15 1/8 in. Provenance: Given to the current owner's father by his employer, Marjorie Merriweather Post. Small chips around rim of upper molding. Scattered surface abrasions to feet and stretchers. Staining and four inch tear to inner fabric. Internal compartment fitted with light. Loss to molding around back right leg, loose molding around front right, and small chip to front left molding.
