George III Marble-top Mahogany Square Stand, England, c. 1780, the breche nouvelle top over fluted frieze with circular carved paterae to corners, on square tapered fluted legs ending in wheeled casters, ht. 14 1/4, wd. 17 1/8, dp. 17 1/8 in. Provenance: Purchased at Charles Lumb & Sons Ltd., Harrogate, 1991. Marble in good condition. No chips, cracks, or loss. Stand with later reinforcements supporting marble. Nicks to mahogany corners.
