Soviet Porcelain Propaganda Plate, St. Petersburg, Russia, 20th century, painted with Cyrillic inscription "Long live the Red Army" with red stars to rim, the center decorated with a Soviet solider trampling on and bayoneting Imperial Russian banners and British, American, and Japanese flags, back with overglaze green mark of a Cyrillic monogram with crown mark of Nicolas II and date 1902, also with later black overglaze State Porcelain Factory mark of hammer, sickle, and cog with date of 1923, Cyrillic inscription "After a drawing by M. Adamovich," and artist's monogram, dia. 10 1/2 in. Very minor scattered loss to enamel and surface abrasions. No chips, cracks, or repairs.
