Red-painted Sack-back Windsor Chair, probably Boston 1790-1800, with seven spindles which fan outwards, old varnish over red paint and gray undercoating, ht. 40 1/2, seat ht. 17 1/2 in. Provenance: Purchased at a T.R. (Ted) Langdell on-site auction in Chester, New Hampshire, in 1978. there are about 4 or 5 small losses to the ring turnings
