Sold for:
$1,067

Federal Cherry Candlestand, New England, early 19th century, the oval top on a vase- and ring-turned support, and tripod base of scratch-beaded cabriole legs ending in pad feet, ht. 27 1/4, wd. 16, dp. 21 in. Provenance: Purchased from Scott Bassoff, Rindge, New Hampshire, out of the back of his van. Scott had the ability to sell more antiques out of his "roving kennel" than most of us could ever imagine selling at a major show. His wit, enthusiasm, and love of the business is still sorely missed by many of us...some twenty years later. fine condition, top lacks same old finish as the rest of the table.
