Howard Gilt Zinc and Copper Rooster Weathervane, J. Howard, West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, c. 1854-67, two-part hollow cast zinc flattened full-body vane, with corrugated sheet copper tail and cast copper feet, supported on an iron bar, weathered painted surface, with stand, (minor imperfections), ht. 27, lg. 24 1/4 in. Provenance: Leo Legare Auction; discovered by Hercules Pappachristos in the metropolitan Boston area. Literature: A similar rooster vane by J.
