Jacques Enguerrand Gourgue (Haitian, 1930-1996) Man and Donkey in a Mountain Landscape Incised signature "JE. Gourgue" l.l. Oil on Masonite, 30 x 20 in. (76.5 x 50.8 cm), framed. Condition: Abrasion and paint loss to l.l. quadrant. N.B. A note with a photograph affixed to the reverse states that this painting was a gift from Dr. Roger Rigaud, a minister of the Interior under President Dumarsais Estimé, to D. Robert Cervera (date unknown). Small loss to l.l. quadrant, measuring approx. 1/16 x 1/16 in., surface dust; no additional condition issues to report.
