Peter Busa (American, 1914-1985) Transfigured Night , 1946 Signed and dated "Busa '46" l. r., identified on a backing board fragment and with a label from Acme Fine Art and Design, Boston, inserted into the backing. Mixed media (watercolor, gouache, and graphite) on paper, 10 3/4 x 13 3/8 in. (27.3 x 34.0 cm), framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame. Provenance: Estate of the artist to son Christopher Busa, to Dr. Elton R. Yasuna, Harwich Port, Massachusetts, June 6, 1992; private Massachusetts collection. N.B. A copy of an invoice from Christopher Busa to Dr. Yasuna accompanies the lot. Sheet size is 10 13/16 x 13 3/8 inches. Inscribed on the reverse in pencil "5/5 N & P" l.l. Sheet is affixed to window mat with archival tape along three sides. A few small spots of foxing to l.l. corner, two small stains (1/2 inch and 1/4 inch) to the edge u l. Original invoice in pocket on the frame backing.
