John Joseph Enneking (American, 1841-1916) Autumn - Edge of Woods/Road Signed and dated "Enneking 98" l. r., identified with Pierce catalogue raisonné number IV-G-130 on a label from Pierce Galleries, North Abington, Massachusetts, affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 18 x 24 in. (45.7 x 60.9 cm), in a Ben Badura frame (monogrammed and inscribed "BB New Hope, PA. J54"). Condition: Scattered craquelure, pigment fluorescence. Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection. Very fine scattered craquelure to areas of heaviest impasto; naturally occurring pigment fluorescence; no additional condition issues to report.
