Hazel Finck (American, 1894-1977) "Pick 'em Up and Feel Their Heft," 1941 Signed "H. Finck" l.r., titled on the stretcher, also titled and dated "...1941..." a handwritten label affixed to the stretcher. Tempera and oil on canvas, 20 x 24 in. (50.5 x 61.3 cm), framed. Condition: Scattered paint losses, varnish inconsistencies, surface grime. Inscribed "Friendly Tavern Woodstock" on the frame. Paint loss 1/8 inch diameter to l.r. corner. Varnish inconsistencies, most visible to left of head of girl in yellow. Dots of possible old retouch or varnish inconsistencies primarily to figure in blue sailor garb. Craquelure to u.r. corner.
