Henry Hobart Nichols (American, 1869-1962) Vessels in Moonlight Signed "Hobart Nichols" l. l., with a label from Doll & Richards, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, on the frame backing paper. Oil on board, 17 3/4 x 21 3/4 in. (45.2 x 55.2 cm), framed. Condition: Minor bowing and wear to edges of panel, surface grime. Doll & Richard's No. D7819. Very fine craquelure throughout; minor loss/nick to l.l. quadrant approx. 1/16 x 1/16; minor scattered mildew to u.r. quadrant under UV, would benefit from a cleaning; no additional condition issues to report.
