Signed and inscribed "George Elbert Burr Del. et Imp." in pencil l.l., titled in pencil l.r., inscribed "Edition of 40 proofs Trial proof" in pencil l.r., monogrammed within the plate. Etching and aquatint on paper, plate size 9 3/4 x 11 7/8 in. (24.7 x 30.1 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 1 inch with deckled right edge, unobtrusive toning, scattered fox marks, staining (primarily to margins). The sheet measures 13 x 14 3/4 inches. The staining is primarily to the margins.
