Early Louis Vuitton Damier Canvas Steamer Trunk, late 19th/early 20th century, of typical form, with checked canvas-covered body, marked "L. Vuitton Marque De Fabrique Deposee," brass hardware also with LV markings, wood and leather straps, brass fittings, interior compartments, centered inside paper label, serial number 37216, on rollers, ht. 22 1/2, wd. 36, dp. 21 in. Wear to trunk. Some insect damage to top of trunk, side, and back center. Water damage/ staining, possibly mildew, to interior. One brass at top corner has been cleaned or replaced.
