Black Lacquer Wood Document Box with Mother-of-pearl Inlay China, 19th/20th century, rectangular, the base with everted, bracket feet, the deep cover decorated with a cartouche on each side inlaid with confronting dragons flanking a pearl amidst clouds against red ground, the corners embellished with stylized lotus and foliage, the tray insert inlaid with a pair of phoenixes flying amongst clouds, 5 1/2 x 16 x 12 1/4 in.
