Federal Mahogany Inlaid Tall Case Clock, Simon Willard, Roxbury, c. 1800, the case with reeded brass stop-fluted columns and inlaid with stringing and crossbanding, the tombstone polychrome and gilt dial showing a young lady in the arch holding a lyre, seconds hand, and lettered "Simon Willard," with brass eight-day weight-driven movement, refinished, (restoration), ht. 90 1/2 in. Provenance: Gift from J. Cheney Wells to Wells Historical Museum, 1937 (J. Cheney Wells Purchase, 1925).
