Pieced and Appliqued Cotton Oak Leaf Pattern Quilt, America, late 19th/early 20th century, hand-stitched quilt with twelve Oak Leaf blocks, each composed of four blue and white printed cotton oak leaves alternating with two diamonds in a printed pink fabric around a four-lobed motif, the blocks separated by a wide grid in the same blue and white print fabric, edged in the pink fabric and backed with off-white homespun cotton fabric, quilted in a outline, zigzag and diagonal line stitches, (minor fading, light toning, and fraying on edges), approx. 88 x 74 in. Provenance: Purchased at Skinner in 1972.
