Gouache on paper, 21 1/2 x 15 3/4 in. (54.5 x 39.8 cm), framed. Condition: Minor acid burn to edges of sheet, sheet mounted to paperboard support. Provenance: Buchholz Gallery, New York, to David Richardson in 1950, to current owner by family descent. N.B. The church interior depicted here is that of St. Bartholomew, Sutton Waldron, designed by George Alexander in the medieval Gothic style and built in 1847. Its notable interior was designed by Owen Jones.
