Chinese, 19th century. Chinese export rose medallion porcelain oblong almond-shaped lidded vegetable dish with removable fitted lid with prunus fruit or acorn finial at top with gilt finish above hand painted enamels with traditional C scroll bordered scenes depicting courtly figures and birds amid fruit and flowers, lower section with similar motif on exterior, interior of container with flora and fruit sprays on white ground. Unmarked. Overall approximate height 3.4", width 9", depth 7.4". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Ms. Kathleen Morrison, Alpharetta, Georgia.
