Display Cabinet, China, late 19th/early 20th century, hardwood, upper section arched with openwork crest depicting grape and gourd vines, in the arch two figures, below six tiered crest carved to depict grape and gourd vines, six tiered shelves with openwork surrounds in floral motifs, sides opened with carved floral ornamentation, the back openwork depicting bamboo and branches, all posts with undercut carving depicting dragons in clouds, the lower section with two paneled doors carved with branches and flowers, their frames similarly ornamented, at right two open shelves with floral openwork, corner posts continue the dragon and clouds motif, apron with floral openwork, dragon's claw feet, this style popularly associated with the furniture of the Qing imperial palace, but made for a domestic bourgeois and overseas clientele, ht. 80 1/2, wd. 36 1/2, dp. 14 1/2 in.
