Veuve Lennel Brass Repeating Circle, Paris, c. 1785, the instrument on three adjustable brass feet, attached to a walnut shaft with disassembly and azimuth adjustment wing nuts, the azimuth ring engraved Veuve Lennel a Paris calibrated 0-60 in six segments with vernier, central pillar, sector calibrated 0-90 with vernier and counter weight adjusted by bone and brass thumb screws, 16-1/2 in. circle calibrated 0-360 and adjusted by a bone and brass thumb screw, two magnified verniers, two 26-in., two-draw telescopes and dual spirit levels, ht. of instrument with calibrated circle horizontal, 25- in. Note: Reportedly there is another Lennel repeating circle at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers.
