SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.A. , leather Model 1851 saber belt with brass eagle and wreath buckle, cap box with maker's mark on inside flap J.A. BAKER/NEW.YORK , and a leather holster with maker's on back E. GAYLORD/CHICOPEE/MASS. Note: Lot includes a 1968 dated note stating that the pistol was owned by Darius Negus from Rhode Island, and it was being given to a descendant. Negus is listed as being a Private in the 4th Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry.
