Edmund Teske (American, 1911-1996) Two Photographs: Women's Clothing Store Interior and Storefront , late 1930s/early 1940s. Both signed "Edmund Teske" in blue pencil on verso. Gelatin silver prints, sizes to 6 5/8 x 6 1/4 in. (16.8 x 15.9 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Unmounted, crease in u.r. corner of Interior , Storefront has minor handling creases in corners, crease in u.r. quadrant, and several spatters of blue paint across surface, minor soiling on verso of both. Provenance: From the private collection of György Kepes. N.B. In the late 1930s, Edmund Teske taught at the New Bauhaus (renamed the Institute of Design in 1944) in Chicago alongside Laszlo Molohy-Nagy and György Kepes.
