Francisco Brennand (b. 1927) Porcelain Plaque Porcelain, metal Brazil, 1958 Oval plaque depicting a stylized female figure in vegetation in blue and white, glazes, signed by the artist and dated, approx. ht. 25 1/2, wd. 20 1/2 in. Note: Brennand is one of the most celebrated artists in Brazil. The main focus of his work is the study of the female body. Brennand's murals and sculptures can be found in the gardens designed by Brule Marx. He found inspiration from flora, fauna, mythological, and literary figures.
