Classical Carved Mahogany and Mahogany Veneer Sofa, Thomas Seymour, possibly for James Barker, with carving attributed to Thomas Wightman, Boston, c. 1815-19, the shaped and reeded back with concave paneled center flanked by carved rosettes, on outward scrolling arms with paneled and similarly carved fronts, all on the paneled front rail and shaped legs flanked by concentric ring bosses ending in cast brass hairy paw casters, old finish, (minor imperfections), ht. 36 1/4 overall lg. 84, dp. 26 in.
