Chippendale Carved Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, probably North Shore of Massachusetts, c. 1760-80, the lid opens to an interior of a fan-carved prospect door with valanced compartment and concave drawer, flanked by document drawers with split-baluster fronts, four valanced compartments and two tiers of serpentine front drawers, on a cockbeaded case of four graduated drawers, all on claw-and-ball feet centering a shell-carved pendant, replaced brasses, refinished, (restoration), ht. 44, case wd. 40 1/4, case dp. 23 1/2 in.
