Large Cobalt-decorated Stoneware Water Cooler, probably Boston, early 19th century, bulbous ovoid form decorated on the front neck and shoulder with cobalt-filled stamped shapes in rows of descending numbers: eight radiating diamonds, seven radiating diamonds, six rosettes, five reeded crescents, and four small circles, with open lug handles with cobalt daubed terminals, and a bunghole surrounded with cobalt-filled crescents, (shallow losses on rim), ht. 14, dia. approx. 14 3/4 in.
