Bergama Rug, West Anatolia, early 19th century, the indigo diamond inset with an eight-pointed star in octagon on a light madder-colored field bracketed by archaic hooked squares with spaciously drawn gold, ivory, green and blue rosettes and flanked at either end by hanging lamps, all within a wide terra-cotta and ivory "pinwheel" main border, 6 ft. 7 in. x 5 ft. 1 in.
