Afshar Rug, Southeast Persia, early 20th century, the red stepped medallion flanked at either end by highly stylized blossoming rosettes terminating in two hooked angular pendants, and at the center by two pairs of confronted birds all upon a midnight blue field, corner quarter medallions of similar style, all within a red angular floral meander main border, multiple ivory minor borders, red kilim ends, 5 ft. 8 in. x 4 ft. 3 in.
