American Gold-washed and Diamond-set Sterling Silver Chalice, possibly Newark, New Jersey, 20th century, marked "JPiana" possibly for Joseph E. Piana, flared bell-form cup raised on a stem with a central knop decorated with flowerheads, terminating in a floriform base with Gothic-style tracery and a mounted cross with five diamonds, presentation inscription to underside, ht. 8 3/4 in., approx. 21 troy oz., together with an unmarked gold-washed paten with an engraved cross in the original fitted case.
