Ethiopian School, 20th Century Framed Work. Composition with seventy-two scenes presented in a 12 x 6 grid, each scene bearing an inscription, tempera on canvas stretched over plywood, 56 x 34 3/4 in. N.B. The story told in the seventy-two vignettes presents scenes, possibly Biblical, of various men and women, some with children, some in elegant garments and crowns, and a serpent which they are trying to kill and which is shown ingesting a goat and later a man.
