Morvillier [ sic ]" on the stretcher, inscribed "587." and stamped or inscribed "THOMPSON COLLECTION/NEW YORK, ...P. ROWELL" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 24 1/4 x 36 1/4 in. (61.5 x 91.5 cm), framed. Condition: Strip lined, retouch, craquelure. N.B. The consignor has provided the following provenance: Collection of Thomas Thompson, Boston, Massachusetts, and New York, c. 1860s; Leeds and Miner, New York, February 7, 1870, Executrix's Sale of Mr. Thomas Thompson's Extensive and Valuable Collection..., Lot 587; Private collection, Buffalo, New York.
