Antique Fereghan Sarouk Carpet, West Persia, third quarter 19th century, the ivory field displaying a small lobed center medallion from which an intricate and precisely drawn network of vines, forked arabesques, exaggerated lancet leaves, rosettes, and palmettes emerge all in hues of sky blue, royal blue, red, blue-green, and gold, all within a red main border containing an angular palmette and vine pattern, 11 ft. 7 in. x 10 ft. 7 in.
