Isphahan Rug, Central Persia, early 20th century, the silk foundation with a red lobed and pendanted center medallion upon an ivory scalloped field with an allover design of finely drawn palmettes, vines, curled leaves, and flowerheads, royal blue and ivory stepped spandrels, all within a red main border displaying palmettes with sweeping vines and boteh, multiple floral meander minor borders, (approximately 850 knots per sq. inch), 7 ft. 6 in. x 4 ft. 9 in.
