V.L.C" for Roger Vandercruse Lacroix (1728–1799), two circular shelves each with a reticulated ormolu gallery enclosing crossbanded kingwood veneer centering an inset lacquer panel, the top surface with a single frieze drawer, all raised on three cabriole legs, ht. 29 3/4, wd. 17 in. N.B. Lacroix (maitre, 1755) specialized in meubles volants , utilizing fine veneers, well-cast mounts, and lacquer or porcelain elements.
