Four Massachusetts Yachting Trophies, two pewter tankards: one with two enameled unidentified yacht club burgees and inscribed "Independence/ Boston/ May 18, 1901," ht. 4 1/4; the other with hinged cover inset with Annisquam Yacht Club insignia and body inscribed "AYC/ CATS/ Aug. 9, 1913/ First Prize/ Won by/ Katzenjammer," ht. 5 1/8; a copper-mounted pewter trophy with two handles and inscribed "Swampscott Club/ Gravesend Bay YRA Trophy/ August 9, 1909/ Won by/ Queen," ht. 5 3/4; and silver-plated dish on stand with cranberry-to-colorless glass dome, the circular dish inscribed "South Boston Yacht Club 1877-Won by The Yacht Nattie," stand ht. 11 7/8 in. N.B. Independence was a Crowninshield-designed America's Cup defender commissioned by Thomas Lawson and launched in May of 1901. She was scraped just six months later after a series of mediocre racing results.
