Lippitt", dia. 11 1/2 in., approx. 41.3 troy oz. N.B. The cutter Wasp was originally owned by Archibald Rodgers, and designed by Nathanael Herreshoff in 1891 to compete against her revolutionary predecessor Gloriana . The two cutters raced against each other numerous times the following 1892 season pitting captains and half-brothers Charlie and John Barr against each other. Wasp continued to be a competitor in her field in the years following.
