Five Corinthian Yacht Club Trophies, three mentioning H. C. Leeds: two pewter mugs, each with an enameled copper plaque and inset glass base, one engraved "H.C. Leeds/Yacht/Stranger/June 13th 1887", ht. 4 1/2, the other "C.Y.C./An. Reg. '91/Gloriana/H.C. Leeds", ht. 4 1/2, and a Whiting sterling silver shoehorn with inscription "Annual Race/1891/H.C. Leeds", lg. 6 1/2; the fourth a pewter tankard with an enameled burgee and glass base, engraved "Corinthian Yacht Club/Race for 1/2 Raters/Sept. 5th '98/Won by/Mae", ht. 9 1/4, and a Wilson & Davies silver-plate mug with a ropetwist handle, engraved Corinthian Yacht Club/ 9th June 1874/won by/John Bartlert/Yacht/Surge," ht. 4 3/4 in. N.B. Herbert C. Leeds was an amateur baseball player at Harvard and also a well-respected golf course architect, who designed the original courses at the Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton, Bass Rocks Club in Gloucester, and Kebo Valley Club in Bar Harbor.
