Chinese, 20th century. Chinese embroidery textile with bats and butterflies above floral and tree decoration with child figure in brightly colored clothes at bottom flying kite. Varied kinds of stitching evident in multicolored embroidery work on sand or cream colored fabric ground. Large blue bat at top is the most elaborately handled with forbidden stitch work throughout. Overall (including metal hanging mounts) 65 inches x 6 inches.
