China, 20th Century. Figural caved jade ting vessel or vase depicting standing archaistic mythical pixiu, the winged figure with head turned, fangs showing, surmounted with open vessel on the back, hung to one side with a ring standing foresquare on paw feet, mounrd to a reticulated hardwood stand and shaped floral incised stepped gilt metal oblong base. Vessel apparently unmarked, missing cover beast has broken off horn. Height 12", width 7.75", depth 4.25"._x000D_
