The sitter wears a lace cap with pink ribbon, gold pendant earrings, and a black dress with lace collar, and holds a book in her hand, oil on canvas in a period grain-painted frame, 28 x 22 in. Condition: Restoration. Provenance: Descended in the family of Joshua Davis (b. 1733), a direct descendant from Governor Carver of Massachusetts and the Mayflower Company.
