Painted Spreadwing Eagle Carving, presumed to be from Beacon, New York, 19th century, made in three sections, the center section of an eagle perched on a branch, surrounded to the left by carved leafage and berries, and to the right by oak leaves and acorns, original surface, (dirty overall, minor loses to paint), wd. 62 1/2 in. Note: This carving is thought to be done by one of a number of ship's carvers staying in Chelsea-on-Hudson during the time period.
