Horse-head-pommel Sword and Scabbard, c. early 19th century, gilt-brass horse head pommel with mane on the backstrap, knuckle bow pierced with a crown over GR , langets have a lion decoration, fire-blued steel blade engraved with foliate designs, and a panoply of arms, steel scabbard with two carrying rings, blade lg. 33 1/2, overall lg. 38 1/2 in. Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Fort Ticonderoga Museum.
