Numismatic Gallery of the Kings of France, designed by Armand Auguste Caqué (1793-1881), seventy-four medallions, each depicting a French king or ruler, marked for copper and "Caqué," and with dates ranging from 1830-1842, dia. 2 1/16; together with another medallion depicting Louis Napoleon and marked "Barré," in a mid-19th century brass-mounted case containing five fitted trays lined in velvet and silk, case ht. 3 1/2, wd. 13 3/8, dp. 8 1/4 in. N.B. Marie Thérèse, Dauphine of France (1778-1851), purportedly spearheaded the Numismatic Gallery.
